Accused dog stealer in trouble again

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Dayton woman accused of stealing a guide dog is back in trouble.

Bonnie Ritchie, 21, now faces aggravated menacing charges and violation of a domestic violence protection order.

A police report says Bonnie and Brandon Ritchie were standing across the street from the Dayton Metro Library August 8 when Sierra Cherry and Christina Ritchie walked out.

The report says the Ritchies yelled at Cherry. It says they told her they were “going to cut her throat”.

They followed Christina Ritchie and Cherry from across the street, but finally left.

Police arrested Bonnie Ritchie and Brandon Ritchie.

Bonnie Ritchie pleaded not guilty in July to the dog theft charges. She is accused of stealing a woman’s guide dog from its yard.

The dog has since been returned to its owner.

She is scheduled to go on trial for the dog theft October 6.
