MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio -(WDTN)-Organizers of the career fair want to the message out – there are plenty of jobs and they are here in Montgomery County.

As employers got their booths ready, job seekers came in hoping to land a job.

Ohio Means Jobs Montgomery County hosted a job fair at the Dayton Convention Center Wednesday, and organizers are calling it a success.

It’s estimated that between 400 to 500 people came particularly looking for employment in manufacturing, entry level and management warehouse positions.

Organizers said logistics and manufacturing are the fastest growing industries creating new jobs in the region.

In addition to speaking with potential employers, job seekers took advantage of on site advice to improve their resumes.

In a time where some would consider job prospects low, Workforce Talent Supply Manager Silvia Anderson said things are on the upswing.

“It’s really important to get a lot of folks who are suffering from the lack of confidence in the job opportunities as a part of the recovery of the economy,” said Anderson.

Anderson said their next job fair will be Oct. 8, 2014 at UD Arena. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
