DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Cooper Park in downtown Dayton is now smoke-free.

City leaders gathered at the park Wednesday morning to make the announcement.

The park is located at St. Clair Street and East Second Street. The park sits next to the Dayton Metro Library.

The mayor says people can now enjoy the park in a healthy environment.

“We are proud to have Montgomery County’s first smoke-free park in the heart of our city,” Mayor Whaley said. “Park visitors can now enjoy the benefits of spending time outdoors in a smoke-free environment.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
