Bus driver off the streets during crash investigation

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton Public Schools bus driver who was cited Wednesday for driving through an accident scene is no longer behind the wheel.

We did some checking and a schools spokesperson tells 2 NEWS the driver is working in a non-driving capacity pending the outcome of her case.

Police cited the driver for driving around a crash scene along South Smithville Road Wednesday afternoon.

A motorcycle collided with a pickup near the Tuttle Avenue intersection.

The motorcycle rider, James Calhoun, 34, is listed in critical condition at the hospital.

Children were onboard the school bus at the time the driver pulled around the crash. Police cited her with driving on a closed road and reckless operation.

The district did not release the driver’s name.
