One last inside peek at the new Dayton racino


DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The new racino in Dayton opens its doors in less than a week.

Inside is a wonderland for gamers.  Anything and everything for the lucky and the not so lucky.

When you look outside, a track for horse racing is ready.

All this at the new Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway at Needmore and Wagner Ford roads.

Still putting the finishing touches on the property, the 33,000 square foot gaming spot boasts two floors complete with a formal dining room and food court.

500 people are employed there with an expected hike in employment for surrounding businesses.

“What we have seen, a one to one impact on the actual direct jobs which 500 and the impact on local area hotels, restaurants etc,” said Gary DeWitt, General Manager.

Salary range for racino employees varies.

With the help of the Ohio Department of Transportation, racino execs have re-worked the intersection of Needmore and Wagner Ford, adding a turning lane for the expected traffic.

“We are installing two stop lights and adding a turn lane on Needmore Rd as well.”

The racino is still hiring looking for qualified team members.

Security will be tight. Opening day is August 28.
