SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – After guiding Trotwood Madison to four straight state championship games, including winning the title back in 2011, Head Coach Maurice Douglass decided he needed a change of scenery.
This year, Coach Douglass will be walking the sidelines at Springfield where his presence has already made an impact.
The program’s numbers have more than doubled from last year.
Despite back to back 1-9 seasons, the Wildcats have new faith and believe they can become one of the more competitive teams in the always tough GWOC Central.
“When you step on the field, you’re going to get a battle for 48 minutes,” said Coach Douglass. “The game is not a half, it’s not 24, not 12 or 36, it’s 48 minutes, so what you’re going to get is a team that will compete for all 48 minutes. They may not win every game, but they’re going to compete totally different from how they did in the past.”
