PIQUA, Ohio (WDTN) – Troopers are stepping up enforcement along a stretch of I-75 from Piqua to Sidney.
The Ohio Department of Transportation says it asked for the patrols after a number of crashes in construction zones.
Troopers say the crashes were due to speed and improper lane changes.
Ramping up patrols on I-75 from Piqua to Sidney is paying off.
ODOT has been working with the Ohio Department of Public Safety to make construction zones safer.
They say there is a decrease in the number of crashes since the inception of the Work Zone Enforcement program that started in 2004.
