Trotwood officer suspended for sexual harassment

TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – A Trotwood police officer, twice accused of sexual harassment is suspended for 30 days without pay Friday.

The ruling comes as a result of a disciplinary hearing involving Joseph McCrary.  He was also demoted and must attend city directed, harassment training.

According to the the city manager, the 22-year veteran of the Trotwood Police Department is accused of and admitted to showing an inappropriate YouTube video showing a caricature of part of a woman’s anatomy. However, McCrary denied making sexually oriented remarks on the job.

2 NEWS dug up another complaint against McCrary in 2009. He was disciplined for that incident.

The newest allegations surfaced in 2011 and 2012.  The City of Trotwood responded with a short memo to news outlets Friday. The writing also read there would be no further comment about the McCrary incident.
