Record number of students move in to UD dorms

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — An estimated 2,205 first-year students moved in Saturday morning to their new homes at the University of Dayton.

With smiling faces and open arms, UD’s Blue Crew welcomed the incoming students as they said their good-byes to their parents. Made up of upperclassmen, Blue Crew members were there to carry in items to the dorms and help first year students get settled into their new living areas.

This year’s freshmen class is the largest in the University’s history.

First year students will take the rest of the weekend to move in. The remainder of upperclassmen are scheduled to return to campus Sunday. Classes start Wednesday August 27.
