Fight escalates to stabbing

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A fight escalates and results in a man being stabbed.

Police were called to the 200 block of Fernwood Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

When they arrived, they met with the victim’s brother who was irate and screaming. He told officers someone stabbed his brother in the stomach, 38-year-old Anthony Brown.

Police found a kitchen knife on the sidewalk in front of the porch.

According to witnesses, a woman and Brown showed up to get a car she loaned her mother, but an argument ignited and tensions escalated. Officials said a man stabbed Brown in self defense after Brown punched him and his brother stomped on his head.

Brown was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Right now, it is unclear if charges will be pursued.
