Good Neighbor House holds block party

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A family block party was held Sunday to promote good health.

The Good Neighbor House partnered with the Kettering Health Network and the Dayton Dragons to host its first Street Family Fun Day.

There were wellness screenings for adults and children and information on available services.

The Good Neighbor House provides a food pantry, clothing and household items to families in need in the area.

“It’s part of the Good Neighbor House’s philosophy of empowering healthy communities,” stated Jonathan Leach, Executive Director of the Good Neighbor House. “And so we want to do great food, but we also want to do a lot of fun stuff, health screenings, to let people know where they are in their health life.”

In addition to the wellness screenings, there was food, music and inflatable slides for the kids. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
