Man shot in the buttocks

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating are a man is shot in the buttocks.

Police were called to Good Samaritan Hospital after 3 a.m. Sunday to meet with the shooting victim.

When officers arrived, they met with the 22-year-old victim Darius Bruce. Bruce told officers he was in Cincinnati earlier when he was shot.

Police asked Bruce if he had been in the area of of Otterbein Avenue and Stanford Place about 30 minutes before he arrived at the hospital. Officers were called to a shooting there but couldn’t locate a crime scene or a victim.

Bruce maintained he was in Cincinnati but didn’t know that name of the place where the shooting occurred. He told police he went out with a friend for her birthday but when they were in the parking lot he heard some men arguing followed by shots. Bruce said he and his friend left Cincinnati and drove to his friend’s home in Fairborn. That’s when he realized he had been shot. He said his friend drove him from his home to Good Samaritan.

Police interviewed the victim’s friend whose story was similar to Bruce’s. She told them the shooting occurred at Annie’s bar in Cincinnati. Officers contacted Cincinnati Police. Cincinnati Police said they did not receive any calls about shots fired at Annie’s and did not respond there.
