Bicyclist hit by car in Washington Township

WASHINGTON TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – The Careflight helicopter was called to the scene of a bicycle rider hit by a car.

The incident happened at Yankee Street near Leona Lane just before 11:00 a.m.

Police say the victim is a 43-year-old man.  They say he rode his bicycle through the intersection and was hit by an oncoming SUV driven by a 62-year-old man.

It is unclear who was at fault.

The road was shut down so that Careflight could land to remove the victim to the hospital.  Police say he suffered serious head injuries.
