WASHINGTON TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – A gas leak in Washington Township prompted the evacuation of a day care.

Fire crews say a natural gas line was ruptured in the 1300 block of West Social Row Road and Falls Creek.

The township says Social Row Road is closed between Paragon and Yankee Roads.

The All About Kids Day Care is among the evacuees. Several homes were also forced to evacuate to The Golf Club at Yankee Trace.

Investigators say a fiber optic cabling company hit the line.

We’re told the road is expected to remain closed for several hours while repairs are made.

The repairs were complete just before 1:00 p.m.  The road is back open.

No one was hurt.
