SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (WDTN) – The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about an elaborate plan to rob homes.

Several complaints were called in to deputies in the past week.

They say a man is asking homeowners to leave their houses to walk their property lines. The man claims that he is a government agency checking properties.

In one instance, deputies say while the victim was walking his property with the suspect, another man went inside the home and stole money.

A second incident was thwarted when the homeowner caught on quickly to what was happening.

Call your local police agency if you suspect you’ve been victimized. In Clark County, call the Clark County Sheriff’s Office at 937-328-2560.
