TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – The Trotwood Police Department released video of a deadly accident involving an RTA bus and a passenger.

William Cribley, 56, was killed Monday night in the 3300 block of Shiloh Springs Road after exiting the bus.

Police say the video shows that he was clearly away from the bus as it started to pull away.

Investigators say it does not appear that the victim’s clothing got caught in the bus door.

They do believe that alcohol played a factor in the accident, but are awaiting toxicology results.

Witnesses told 2 NEWS that Cribley appeared drunk.  They say they saw him fall backward.

Police say Cribley was pinned between a bus tire and the curb.  The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office confirms that Cribley died from blunt force trauma.  It ruled his death accidental.

The bus driver will not be cited.
