FRANKLIN, Ohio (AP) – A Franklin girl was arrested Tuesday afternoon after accusations that she made a serious threat.

Police arrested the teen after a group of students at Franklin High School told authorities that she wanted to “to do a mass school shooting and end it with suicide by cop.”

A news release from police says the girl is being held on a charge of inducing panic. It’s a felony because it allegedly took place on school grounds.

Schools officials credit the students with coming forward after hearing the threat, but they don’t believe the girl would have carried out the attack.

It wasn’t clear when the girl would appear in court. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
