COLUMBUS, Ohio (WDTN) – Absentee ballot applications will be in the mail Friday for Ohio voters.
More than 6-million Ohioans should see them arrive shortly after Labor Day.
Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted says the ballots will encourage people to vote.
“This year’s statewide mailing is another in a series of steps we have taken to make it easier to vote and harder to cheat for all voters,” Secretary Husted. “Voters who take advantage of this convenient option will be able to cast their ballot from the comfort of their own homes and help to reduce the chance for long lines at the polls on Election Day.”
A second batch of ballots will be mailed in October for anyone who registered to vote or updated their information after August 1.
Early voting begins October 7, the day after registration closes.
