Arrest made in violent small town robbery

GREENVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) – The Darke County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest for the assault and robbery of a business owner.

Deputies have Delphus Peace, 28, in custody.

He is accused striking the 63-year-old owner of a small engine repair shop in the 5700 block of Jaysville St. Johns Road.

Police say he struck the owner several times with a wood handle. They say he stole the man’s wallet and some cash.

The victim was seriously hurt and was taken by Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment of a head wound.

Delphus is being held in the Darke County Jail on aggravated robbery, felonious assault and drug trafficking charges awaiting formal charges by prosecutors.
