EATON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Lakengren resident is under arrest for a string of thefts.

The Preble County Sheriff’s Office arrested Travis Taylor, 21.

Deputies say 22 thefts took place since July 8 in the gated community.

They say mostly cars parked in driveways were targeted. The suspect got away with money, GPS units, two guns, and various other personal items.

A residential burglary might also be connected. An elderly homeowner was home at the time of the break-in. Money was stolen in that incident.

Taylor is in the Preble County Jail awaiting formal charges.

Deputies say he admitted that heroin use was his driving motivation for the crimes.
