TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN) – The Trotwood Police Department is conducting a sobriety checkpoint Thursday night.

It is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the 1000 block of Shiloh Springs Road.

Police say there will be various saturation patrols throughout the month of September.

The checkpoint is a joint effort of the Trotwood PD, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the OVI Sobriety Checkpoint Task Force.

Clearcreek Township police will conduct a checkpoint on Mason Montgomery Road near Old Irwin Simpson Road beginning at 8:00 p.m.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says during last year’s four day holiday, 16 people lost their lives on Ohio roadways.  Eight involved an impaired driver.
