DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – An important deadline for Dayton residents.

Street light assessment payments are due Friday.

If you pay in full today, you will get a 5 percent discount on that lightning assessment.

Otherwise, you’ll be paying for those lights for next six years on your tax bill.

The city approved the funding plan to improve around 18,000 street lights.

Your tax bill will reflect any lights on your property.

It’ll cost you about $25.00 a year.
