Semi overturns in embankment off I-75

VANDALIA, Ohio (WDTN) – A semi driver who crashed on I-75 early Friday told Ohio State Highway Patrol he may have fallen asleep.

The crash happened just after 1:00 a.m. on I-75 north near the Montgomery-Miami County line.

The semi drifted off the highway, over the guardrail and overturned in a ditch.

The driver was wearing a seat belt and was not seriously hurt. Troopers say he’s lucky.

They say it’s important for all drivers to make sure they are rested before hitting the road.

The right lane is closed while crews work to remove the truck.
