Kettering checkpoint nabs 5 for drunk driving

KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) — A total of ten people were arrested during an OVI checkpoint in Kettering Friday night.

The checkpoint was held in the 1000 block of East Dorothy Lane from 11 p.m. Friday until 3 a.m. Saturday. In addition to the checkpoint, Kettering officers were assigned to saturation patrols around the area.

Five people were arrested for OVI, one person was arrested on felony drug charges, and four people were arrested on misdemeanor drug charges. Nineteen traffic citations were issued.

A total of 493 cars passed through the checkpoint. It was the second checkpoint conducted in Kettering this year. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
