Man says divorce may have provoked attack

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man said his divorce may have provoked an unarmed robbery.

Police were called to North Broadway Street and Oxford Avenue around 2 p.m. Friday.

Officers met with the victim who they said appeared to have been in some sort of scuffle by the scratches on his neck. The victim told police he and his girlfriend were walking to his mother’s house when two men pulled up alongside them and started beating him. He said they took his silver earrings and polo cap.

The victim said he is going through a divorce. He said his wife had recently called him attempting to reconcile but he refused. He believes that is what may have provoked the attack.

The victim reported the suspects were driving a silver four-door Dodge Avenger.
