DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A collision results in a drug arrest.

Jeremy Christman, 32, was arrested on charges of loitering to engage in illegal drugs and possessing drug abuse instruments.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Hoover Avenue and North Gettysburg Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police reported a Chevy Blazer hit a vehicle stopped at a red light. Officers said the damage was relatively minor. The driver of the vehicle that had been hit said Christman was nodding off and tried to leave the scene of the crash.

Police found a spoon inside Christman’s vehicle with dried residue along with a syringe.

Christman told police he used heroin at a friend’s house shortly before the crash. Christman said he used heroin for about two years and had never been through treatment for addiction but wanted help.

He was booked into jail.

Christman was also issued a traffic citation for the crash. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
