BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) — Hundreds showed up at Walmart Sunday afternoon to show their support of the Beavercreek Police Department.

Folks rallied at 4 p.m. in front of the store.

Some carried signs that read “Support your police” and “Justice will prevail.” They said the community needs to trust the justice system and support the local police department.

Sunday’s rally follows Saturday’s gathering in front of the store where folks turned out to show their support for John Crawford III and his family and pushed for the release of the surveillance video from inside the store.

John Crawford III was shot and killed on August 5th by the Beavercreek Police Department when officers responded to Walmart. Police say Crawford was waving a weapon inside the Beavercreek Walmart and refused to drop it on command. Later, the department reported the weapon was a BB gun.

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office is handling the investigation into the shooting.
