Crime Stoppers Report: Gas station robber caught on tape


DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton gas station robber is caught in the act by the surveillance cameras.

Now police are ready to pay for your tip that leads to his capture in this week’s exclusive Crime Stoppers report.

At 5:30 in the morning on Aug. 10, the surveillance cameras were rolling when a white male entered the Shell gas station at 1951 Stanley Avenue. Once inside, as he shielded his face from the cameras, he placed a bag on the counter and demanded money. After getting it, he fled the business on foot.

“Detectives are hoping to identify the suspect in the surveillance images,” said Det. Cayce Cantrell. “He’s described as wearing distinctive clothing gray hooded sweatshirt with red lettering on front, pink bandana, blue jeans and dark tennis shoes.”
