MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — Terence Williams always knew his granddaughter would be special.
“He hounded the doctor with questions asking about my asthma, making sure my baby would be okay, he started talking about nicknames,” says Tiarra Williams, Terence’s daughter.
Now 1-year-old Kennedy is already walking and talking, but Terence never got to meet her.
Months before she was born, he was shot and killed at what are now the Sagebrook Apartments in Miami Township.
“I’m tired of looking at my daughter and every happy moment I have with her turns sad because I’m thinking about my father,” Tiarra says.
Police are still looking for the man who they say shot him, Emanuel Belton.
He’s been on the run for more than a year and a half and police say he’s even been involved in an armed robbery at a Huber Heights gas station since then.
“Somebody knows where he’s at,” says Det. Mike Siney with the Miami Township Police Department. “Somebody sees him daily. Somebody out there knows.”
Police have a warning for anyone who is trying to hide Belton.
“We will seek charges of obstructing justice if we find out in our investigation that he’s been helped or harbored,” Siney says.
Tiarra just wants Belton captured, so she and her daughter can move on as best they can.
“I can tell her as many things as possible about how he was but it will never amount or measure to having him physically here, Tiarra says.
Police say they’re not sure if he’s still in the area, but they believe people here may know where he is hiding.
