WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dozens of dogs got one last chance to make a splash.
West Carrollton’s seventh annual Doggie Dive was held Saturday at Wilson Pool on South Elm Street.
Owners were able to take their dogs for a swim before the pool closes completely for the summer.
In addition to swimming, there were dog costume contests and a tennis ball fetch contest.
Rescue organizations were on hand to showcase dogs available for adoption.
Admission to the event was $5 per family. A portion of the proceeds will benefit organizations like the Greater Dayton Humane Society, Luv4k9s, Ohio Pug Rescue, Pilot Dogs Inc., and SICSA.
Since the event’s inception, the city has donated nearly $11,500 to local dog rescue groups.
