DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A Dayton juvenile is in trouble after carrying a BB gun near a school.
Police were called to the Dayton Roosevelt Center located at 2021 West Third Street before 6:30 p.m. Friday after a woman called 911 and said she saw a juvenile put a gun in his pocket.
When officers arrived, they immediately secured the boy since the location was next to the Dayton Boys Preparatory Academy. Police stated they found he was carrying a black BB gun, which they said resembled a handgun.
Officers placed him in the back of a cruiser. They said the juvenile continuously acted as if the offense was funny and laughed and smiled as his friends walked by.
Police spoke with the staff at the Roosevelt Center. They told officers the boy was an ongoing problem for them and had been trespassed from the property.
Police charged the juvenile with being unruly.
