DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Dayton Police are investigating after someone reportedly tried to pick up a prescription written on a stolen prescription pad.

Police were called to the Walgreens located at 1542 Wayne Avenue around 5:20 p.m. Friday on a fraud complaint.

When officers arrived, they spoke with a man parked in the drive-thru window. He told police a woman asked him to go to Walgreens and pick up her prescription because she didn’t have a ride. She told him someone gave her a ride earlier to drop it off but she didn’t have a ride to pick it up. He told police he knew the woman from the neighborhood but didn’t know exactly where she lived.

Police spoke with the manager of the pharmacy. She told officers the woman dropped off the prescription last month for 90 ten milligram Percocets. The manager said she later discovered the prescription had been stolen. When the woman returned Friday to drop off the same prescription, the manager called police.

So far, police have not made any arrests.
