SIDNEY, Ohio (WDTN) – Fire did a half million dollars in damage to a home in Sidney Sunday night.
It also claimed the lives of 15 Chihuahuas and one cat.
It took five fire departments five hours to get the flames under control at 1429 Foxdale Place.
Investigators say no one was home at the time the two alarm blaze erupted at 10:15 p.m.
Firefighters say they arrived to heavy flame and smoke coming from the house. Part of the roof collapsed.
Damage to the structure is $400,000, another $100,000 to its contents.
One firefighter received a cut from broken glass. He was treated at the scene.
The investigation into the cause is ongoing.
