DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – On Thursday, the Miami Valley has made plans to remember 9/11, the day almost 3,000 people who were victims of the terrorists’ attacks.
The city of Fairborn will conduct is 13th annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony on, Thursday, September 11th at 8:30 a.m. on the front lawn at Calamityville, the National Center for Medical Readiness, 506 W. Xenia Drive. The ceremony is open to the public. In March of 2011 Fairborn received a steel artifact from one of New York’s Twin Towers.
Brighton Gardens of Washington Township will commemorate the anniversary with a picnic to honor first responders. The senior living community will serve fire, EMS, police and Sheriff departments between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday.
There will be a 5K Flag Run/Walk at 7:00 p.m. in the City of Beavercreek. Meet at the 9/11 Memorial on North Fairfield Road just north of the US 35 interchange.
