MIAMI TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – Austin Landing is growing upward.
Developers held a groundbreaking ceremony on a new five story retail and office tower Monday morning.
It is part of Austin Landing’s work-life design.
The office space will be spruced up with park space that includes a water feature, event space and bike path station.
Developers said retailers will set up shop on the first floor, and office space will be available in the rest of the building.
“Miami Township is very pleased to recognize this important milestone in the continued development of Austin Landing,” Andrew Papanek, Trustee President said.
Surrounding the park are several businesses expected to open in late 2014 including Dewey’s Pizza, Another Broken Egg, Firebirds Restaurant and Anthony Vince Nail Salon.
2NEWS wanted to know how many job are expect to come to the area once construction is complete. Developer and RG Properties President Bo Gunlock said it’s too early to tell.
“It’s very difficult to measure, I can’t say what’s going to create X Number of jobs it depends on who the retailer is,” said Gunlock.
But in terms of the actual construction project he said there are about 150 construction workers on the ground, and about 350 trade workers inside the building putting it together.
Construction is expected to be completed by summer 2015.
