KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) — Police need your help finding the man who robbed a Kettering pizza chain Sunday morning.
He got in through a back door of the Little Caesar’s Pizza at 930 E. Dorothy Lane and ordered one worker to the ground before forcing her into a cooler.
“What these employees went through during those 4 or 5 minutes no one should have to experience that,” says Kettering Police Officer Ron Roberts.
The other worker was led up front and told to lay down while the man went through the deposits for several minutes.
He then left the store with the cash but not before putting that second employee in the cooler as well.
Police say the workers did the right thing.
“Let the suspect go through the robbery and keep yourself safe,” Roberts says. “If they demand anything like cash let them take that. Never put yourself in harm’s way.”
The robber came prepared, hiding his face and wearing gloves, but police think the video may give some clues as to his identity. Police are hopeful somebody noticed the man leaving. The robbery happened around 10:30 a.m.
“If somebody Sunday morning saw anyone dressed how he was dressed running from the area, maybe got into a car, anything that might not seem right, just call us,” Roberts says.
Police also believe the robber’s apparent knowledge of the store’s inner-workings could be a clue.
“We’re going to look at all leads and get any information we can, whether it’s someone who knew the system,” Roberts says. “He might have had some inside information.”
Police say the same store was robbed earlier this year but that robber was caught.
