PERRY TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – A community is coming together to help the family left behind after the death of a young father in a crash.
Robert Webb’s mother and fiancé say being distraught is an understatement, but they did muster up enough strength to say thank you to the West Milton Police Department for rallying around them during the worst time of their lives.
Pictures taken just months ago are the only images Robert Webb’s family will ever see of him again.
“He was an amazing father he helped out a lot and he put his son first before anybody.”
Support from from Robbie’s mother Linda Cook and her son Robbie Jr. is what keeps her strong.
The 21 year old father died in a car accident on Diamond Mill Road in Perry Township Tuesday.
“Having a six month old we are looking at any sort of contributions we can get for the family. Six month old is going to need diapers, food. Any sort of baby needs.”
Officer Adam Simpson and his comrades know Robbie’s mother, Linda, well. She is the Union Township LIfe Squad Chief.
“We know that everybody needs a little bit. As we are in the business not just to bust criminals; arrest bad guys, but we are also people too. We have families. We know what it’s like.”
The department posted the link to a memorial fund in Robbie’s honor on their Facebook page exposing it to nearly 1,000 followers. At last check, there is nearly $3,000 collected from more than 60 donors.
