DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A 13-year-old boy caused a commotion in Dayton Wednesday that put a school on lock down for a short time.

Dayton police were called to the 200 block of Baltimore Avenue around 5:45 p.m. on a report that someone pointed a gun at the receptionist working at the Stuart Patterson Spray Park.

A police report say the receptionist confronted the boy, who then ran off.

Police caught up with the boy at his home a short distance away. The boy admitted he was playing with an air gun in the park, but said he did not point it at anyone.

Nearby Kiser Elementary was on lockdown for a short time.

Police did not arrest the boy, but did warn him about the dangers of what the boy did.

The report goes on to say that boy’s mother told police she would not let her son out of the house again with the toy gun.
