DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Ohio State Auditor’s Office is now investigating a Dayton charter school.

2 NEWS Investigates just got its hands on a report about General Chappie James Leadership Academy.

In the state audit for the fiscal year ending June 13, 2014, it confirms an investigation into student enrollment figures. State auditors are looking into accusations that the school did not withdraw former students from enrollment records.

The school receives funding from the state based on enrollment. As a result of the accusations, the auditor’s office is looking into whether the Ohio Department of Education over-funded the school based on inflated numbers.

The auditor’s office has yet to make a ruling. In the meantime, a regular audit of Chappie James school is pending the investigation’s outcome.

2 NEWS Investigates’ Natalie Tendall is digging into the auditor’s investigation now.
