Cell phone stolen from Cricket store

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Police say a woman is behind bars after she’s part of a group that stole a cell phone from a Dayton store.

Shekisha Buckles, 34, was arrested on theft charges.

Police said she was one of four people who stole a cell phone from the Cricket store located at 1914 Needmore Road.

According to police, four people walked into the Cricket store around 1:30 p.m. Friday. Police said the group then worked to disable a $600 Samsung Galaxy phone from its security cable. Officers said the four people hung out together in the store while one person worked on taking the phone. Police said one woman took the phone from the security cord and placed the phone into her purse. The group then left the store.

Officers said the incident was captured on surveillance video.

Police are still investigating.
