DEA: Dayton man arrested for buying $153,000 worth of cocaine

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Drug Enforcement Agency arrested a Miami Valley man after they say he bought more than $153,000 of cocaine.

Roderick Rideav was arrested on Monday after the DEA served a federal warrant.

Agents issued warrants for a home on the 1000 block of Fairview in Dayton, and another home on Crenshaw Drive in Huber Heights.

DEA agents say Rideav was staying in a home day-care. He attempted to buy seven kilos of cocaine from San Diego.

For Agent Christopher Melink, the drug bust couldn’t have been made without the help of local partners.

“This is a state-federal-local partnership. It can’t be done without that combination,” Melink added, “Long gone are the days of barriers. We have to lower the barriers and continue to work together to impact the community.

Rideav is being held in the Montgomery County Jail. His initial court appearance was earlier Monday. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
