DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A lane shift on I-75 in downtown Dayton has been delayed a day.

It was supposed to start Monday night at 8:00 p.m., but officials say rain in the forecast has them deciding to start Tuesday night instead.

When the shift begins, one southbound lane will be closed between U.S. 35 and Main Street.   It will become a double lane closure from 11:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

Traffic on I-75 south will be shifted to the newly constructed southbound lanes around 6:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Single lane closures in both directions will also take place Wednesday and Thursday. Southbound closures will be in effect between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.  Northbound closures will take place between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. One northbound lane and two southbound lanes will remain open at all times.

Several ramps will also be closed during this time.
