BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – It’s the moment Apple fans have been waiting for. Stores across the country are opening early due to high demand for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S.

At the Greene, some people started lining up at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. They came prepared with chairs, blankets and snacks.

Just before 6:00 a.m., workers at the Apple store took the dark curtains off the display windows. They also started handing out coffee and tea to those waiting.

Employees tell 2 NEWS they expect this special release to be even bigger than the store’s grand opening at the Greene in July.

They expect to be busy all day trying to meet customers’ needs, but they say the supply of the iPhone 6 is limited and not everyone will walk away with one.

There is also a long line outside the AT&T store in Miami Township. 2 NEWS talked to the man who was first in line Thursday night.

Dan Bertrams said, “My phone stopped working and it would be another couple months before I could get one. I’m starting a new job here in a little bit, so I kind of need a knew phone; so I figured I’d bite the bullet and wait, 12, 16 hours and be guaranteed a new one.”
