DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The woman who Montgomery County Prosecutors say was the leader in a city theft ring is now in custody.
Christen Turner turned herself into police Thursday night.
Prosecutors say she is responsible for the theft of $365,000 from the City of Dayton. They say Turner would sign off on claim checks in her friends’ names, then give them the money.
A total of nine people were indicted on various charges. Another 25 people are being screened to attend a diversion program.
Turner is charged with a total of 145 counts.
