SIDNEY, Ohio (WDTN) – Two people were injured in a grinding car crash Friday morning that split a car in two.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says a pickup truck failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a car in the intersection of Ohio 199 and Lochard Road around 10:40 a.m.

The driver of the car, Carol Hoying, of Anna, was flown to Miami Valley Hospital.  Investigators say her car was torn in two and pushed off the road.

The pickup driver, Christopher Redd, of Sidney, was taken to Lima Memorial Hospital for treatment after his pickup overturned and struck a power pole.

The crash remains under investigation.
