TROTWOOD, Ohio (WDTN)– Nationally syndicated radio show host, Tom Joyner, mingled with nearly 400 listeners for a meet and greet before weighing in on the Walmart shooting.
Joyner appeared at Taste Creative Cuisine in Trotwood Tuesday night.
His nationally syndicated show, The Tom Joyner Morning Show gets eight million listeners in 116 cities across the country.
“What we want to do, is meet and greet all eight million.”
He already visited Cleveland and Toledo, and will move on to Columbus and Cincinnati in the coming days.
The stop in Dayton was scheduled before the August 5 shooting inside the Beavercreek Walmart.
Attorney Michael Wright, representing the Crawford family, went on the Tom Joyner Morning show to talk about what he and the family saw in the surveillance video.
“What happened here at Walmart, what happened at Ferguson, what happened to Trayvon, the list goes on and on,” said Joyner.
Joyner said he views tragedies like these as more of a reason to hit the polls.
“I think the best thing that we can do, is get out and vote. We have to get more than just a president elected. We have to get some prosecutors. We have to get some district attorneys, and we have to get some senators and state house. We need some lawmakers to be in our corner.”
The Tom Joyner Morning Show will broadcast live Wednesday from the WROU studios, on 92.1 from 6:00-10:00 a.m.
