East Third Street reopens after crash

DAYTON, Ohio – A single vehicle accident shut down a stretch of East Third Street in Dayton Thursday night.

Police say a 70-year-old man hit a power pole and an RTA pole near the intersection of Jersey Street around 11:00 p.m.

The man was taken Miami Valley Hospital in serious condition.

Third street was closed while police investigated and work crews repaired the damage to the poles.

It reopened shortly before 4:30 a.m.
