DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – For years, the Mathile family has given opportunity to local and global communities with the goal of improving lives.

Thursday at the Dayton Convention Center, with 900 people in attendance, The Presidents Club of Dayton honored Clay and Mary Mathile with the Citizen Legion of Honor Award.

The Mathiles are credited with improving the lives of single mothers, young children, students and anyone whom they feel needs assistance to improve their lives.

Part of the Mathile legacy includes advancing the nutritional health of the world’s children, establishing a professional management organization to help local businesses or providing a safe, educational haven for single mothers is part of the Mathile legacy.

Clay Mathile says when he came to Dayton 44 years ago to work for the Iams Company, he never thought he would have the opportunity to do so much for so many.
