DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Earlier this week, because of a Supreme Court ruling, the idea of early voting in Ohio was pushed back to next week.

A federal judge wanted it to start Tuesday of this week, but the nation’s highest court overruled that.

Ohio’s Secretary of State responded to that when 2 News caught up with him today.

Jon Husted says keeping the original date next week helps balance and makes it hard to cheat and easy to vote, which, he says is striking a balance.

He also said there is no excuse from an administrative standpoint to not vote.

You have until October 6th to register to vote.
