RUSHSYLVANIA, Ohio (WDTN) – Deputies are looking into a possible child abduction attempt in Logan County.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office said a 9-year-old boy was approached by a stranger outside of the Rushsylvania Library.

The mother told deputies her son was waved over to a blue, four-door car while he walked from the One Stop back to the library.

The suspect told the boy he was there to pick him up. The boy then asked the suspect what the secret password was before the suspect drove away.

The sheriff’s office described the suspect as a white male with red hair and a large beard. He was also wearing a white t-shirt.

His vehicle was last seen heading south on Sandusky Street before turning left onto Rush Street.
